As a poetry writer and one who would write and engage others across social networks, Maddp thought it would be great to have a poetry home that would do the same. In searching out what was moving on the poetry scene, he discovered contest was all the rave. With contest come egos. With egos comes the loss of an art form. Many are lured to poetry sites to win, be the best and in that pursuit get their work ripped off (screw poetry/lulu.com). Maddpoets.com defines poetry as a thought you had and wrote it down, felt it, or spoke it. This definition is the foundation of our poetry community.


Welcome to our stage. Poets and lovers of poetry may write, read, and express whatever they may like as long as it fits with in the realm of our terms of use. All members may post, start up as online store to sell goods or services, upload pictures, spoken word, or even use video chatting. It’s free for everyone to enjoy. We only charge to upgrade your membership to allow you to add more pictures or videos to the site as these things are costly and we are not banked rolled by anyone but the MaddP.
